Review Year 2 Semester 2 Life

I chose the harder road. I took five subjects in this semester, so I will able to finish all 3 years subjects within the stated period. Company Law, Research Method, Human Resource Management, Operational Management and the additional subject, Managerial Economics. It was pretty challenging because I was not good in time management.

Nevertheless, I manage to finish all these subjects with a predictably best result in my university life. Too confident? The result will be revealed soon on 17 January 2014. It believe that it will be my happiest ‘result-reveal’ day. Inter alia (means ‘other than that'), I enjoyed my incredible timetable for this semester. At the end of semester, it proved that my decision was correct. Thanks for the help from lecturer.

I learned a lot when I was finishing all the assignments. The weight of assignment on the shoulder was getting heavier and some of the results did not equal to our hard work. We accepted the results because as long as we tried our best, results were just something that showing whether we reached the expectation of lecturer. Indeed, we felt our improvement in term of personality, attitude and maturity. That is the more important thing than result.

Other than academy side, I am happy with my progress in Toastmaster. I’ve already done six speeches and it is four more left to claim the award of ‘Competent Comminicator’ (a.k.a. CC, the first award after clear the first 10 speeches). In addition, I am walking out of my comfort zone as I keep challenging myself in the leadership. For example, I had held the position of Toastmaster of the Evening, Table Topic master, Table Topic Evaluator and Speech Evaluator. I still not dare to become a grammarian because the poorness of my English is simply not reaching the standard yet. I knew that I should do it to get more experience but I want to do it well for the first time, as people and I have a certain level of expectation to my performance. I will try more table topic at next year because it is a good platform to improve the speed of thinking and speaking spontaneously.

I was the president of Sunway CIS-ECA Scholarship Group, however, the group did not exist anymore. It is because of numerous reasons and I am not going to reveal it. There were many good memories among us, and we have organized successful event such as Reading Bus event, cycling event, appreciation dinner. The mixed feeling after every event was hard to describe in words because it was the combination of happy and sad. We felt sad when we were going to separate and leaving each other. Frankly, I was disappointing to myself. I knew this is a stage of learning but I simply can’t accept that I was that weak in leading a club and organizing event. Yes, everyone is saying that I have the quality to be a good leader, but I hope there is someone to guide or lead me to improve myself more because sometimes I really felt helpless. I need someone to push me. I need some new motivators to gain the confidence of a leader. I will find a way of it. I will.

There were some events with friends at this year. We went for the Scary Night at Sunway Lagoon on Halloween, ‘killing zombie’, birthday celebration of Khye Yang in Vivatel, surprised and unexpected birthday celebration with Ben, and no other than the MOST EXPENSIVE & ENJOYABLE SUBS GRANDBALL. There were still a lot of memories that I could not write in words because there was a lot of event! I am glad to have you guys be my friend. Really appreciate it. My university life will not be this colorful without you all. 

Overall, I look for a better year 3 life! My last year, my last chapter in University

For the first time, I have organized a BBQ in my orchard and presented my project speech at other club. On Sunday, Ben Aw and Shan Jie went to Jusco with me to purchase the ingredients and foods for BBQ. They already bought 90 stick of Otak-otak from Muar; hence we bought chicken wings, fish, sausages, ‘crap stick’, mushmarrow, and some seasoning. After that, we gossiped and watched ‘Scream 1’ in my room until 4am. You can never watch horror movie with them because you will keep laughing! After this all, I slept until 6am and they continue to gossip for topics due to insomnia! On Monday, we met Shin Erl, Shim and Hui Nii at Sunway, and then we were moving forward to orchard! We enjoyed our trips by eating durians, good value-of-money of breakfast, played in waterfall and BBQ! This was my first ever BBQ by using wood to outbreak of fire. Almost all the foods are finished expect for fish and otak-otak. Some China friends of Baba came to the orchard after we finished fire our food in first round. They loved Otak-otak very much and appreciated our effort in organizing BBQ at orchard! Ben Aw and Shan Jie were planning to export Otak-otak to China, which were very ambitious but funny part when we were discussing about it. Overall, it was a very good experience and we are planning to have another BBQ at to orchard soon!

On Friday, Kyle had rented a car, Alza, and fetching Sylvia, KL, Keen Yan, Musthaq and me to Melaka. First thanks to Kyle for his effort, Keen Yan for the GPS and everyone for making a fun and memorable trip. Our activies are we ate Chicken rice as our breakfast, visited museum of Baba and Nyonya, had a dissatisfied lunch at ‘Amy’, visited Malay Palace, first tried Coconut Milkshake Special, bought some souvenirs and nearly got free gift from shops, enjoyed ‘Sick Satay Celup’, ate Cendol and watched a martial performances at Jonker Street, and last stop was sitting on boat to look at night view of Melaka. It was a good trip that we will remember when there was a ‘paparazi style’ in finding destination of the ship at evening. Again, I want to say thank you to Kyle from the deepest of my heart because he really made many efforts in organizing a good trip. Last trip before our new semester start, I would use one word to describe it, AWESOME!

On Wednesday, I had finally done my CC#3 speech at other club, REAL toastmaster club. The meeting was organized in the hall of their office at SS19. I went to there with another speaker, DTM Victor Ong. He was my lecturer and recently the President of Sunway University Toastmaster Club (SUTC). The summary will be posted in blog of SUTC soon, the link is ‘http://sunutm.blogspot.com’. This was one of the best meetings that I have joined in these one and a half years. It were because there were role players did very good job and many good speakers and speeches during this meeting! I would definitely return to this club again if I got time since it was organized at 3.30pm, and there is no crash with my own timetable.

Results

This was one of the best moments in my life for seeing my academy results. Before the results were released, I really thought I will fail my Business Law, delay my internship, got 2C and 2D, and I have to fight for second lower class in the future semester. Surprisingly, I passed my Business Law with a mark that make me feel hard work really paid off, and got results that can allow me to fight for second upper class! I felt so blessed and wonderful after seeing the result. I screamed, ran to my parent room in 12 midnight, told them my results and I saw their nice smile again! It was a victory moment for me. Second Upper, I am going to get you when I graduate!

I drove to Glynis house to fetch her, and now we only realized the distance of our house is very short! BUT! I still need to spend some times to find her house because I never been there before.

Shin Erl met us at campus side-gate around 1120a.m., and then Benjemin brought us to Burger JunkyardHe agreed to bring me to Burger Junkyard without hesitation when I asked him for the direction to there. ! Thanks bro, you really a very nice guys! I owe you a lunch!

For me, the burger in this shop is the best compared to the other burger shops that I have tried. 

The portion is big, and the value of money is totally worth! This was my second time been here, and it still satisfy me very much.

After having our wonderful and delicious lunch, we went to Nadeje for our dessert! It is my first time been here and tried out the cake from this famous cake shop. I’ve been Melaka for few times but I failed to enjoy the cake at there. Okay, at least I can try those cakes now!

The environment of the shop was nice, very convenient for customer. I mean, when there is less people queue for cake or no people chat loudly inside the shop. I ordered a slice of cake which named ‘Praline Lover’, and the girls ordered Original flavor cake. I think the worker had put too much cream and mild as ‘Praline Lover’ ingredients after I taste it. I am not dislike the taste but it just too much for me. However, the ‘love shape’ chocolate is nice! Good looking and good in taste too!

I am looking forward to eat these cakes at the main branch in Melaka! Rumours said that it was better than branch in PJ! I would like to try it and prove whether rumours are true or not. It is kind of scientific method and process! Never believe in rumour before it is proven by fact. I learned this at this semester subject ‘Scientific Ideas and Innovation’. It is good for all of us!

After the chit-chat sessions with these two sweet girls, we went back to home around 3 to avoid traffic jam and to let Glynis returned to her hometown earlier.

It was a good day to enjoy good foods and desserts with them. Unforgettable day and a huge apologize to my tummy! I promised myself that I will keep my body fit start from now.

*I did it because I went to gym at the day after this food trip!*
