2013 Toastmaster Semi-annual Convention in Ipoh

It was an AWESOME trip. My first ever trip with toastmasters in this 3 days 2 nights trip. Crazy Sunway Uni Toastmaster members had organized a meeting in train while traveling to Ipoh from KL Sentral!

It is also my first timer to be an evaluator for project speech. I was appointed as table topic evaluator at first because I just did the same role at two days back. I decided to change to speech project evaluator because I want to challenge myself and walk out my comfort zone. The meeting was running smoothly and everyone enjoyed for this meeting. We got praises from other toastmasters because we did some meeting that beyond their expectation! I think we can take all the praises into our account because we deserved it!

After a nearly 90 minutes meeting with passed by three state, which are Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur of Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Perak, we reached our hotel, Kinta Riverfront Hotel & Suites. We were here to support Mirosha in the National Level Humorous Speech contest, ‘claim’ our reward of President Distinguished Club and experienced the atmosphere of toastmaster convention!

Gala Night_ SUTC FULL HOUSE !!

Indeed, it strengthened the relationship of members and expanded our view to the level of toastmaster over the country.  The convention was actually 2 days 1 night, and we stayed at Ipoh for one more night because it was too late for us to return Sunway at night. Gala night and Hawker Night & Ceremony were organized respectively for the first two days. All of Sunway University Toastmaster members joined the flash mob and we did a very good job! People in the hall were enjoying our performances and the atmosphere was awesome! It is definitely a memorable nights for all of us!

After the Hawker night, we went back to room and watch 'The Conjuring'!

Although this was my second time to watch this movie, I still enjoy the effect of the movie! It was simply awesome! I closed my eyes after the movie and when I opened my eyes again, we were going to leave the hotel. See you next time, Ipoh!

I was so surprised and disappointed for our country. There are many cases of people dead because of shoot by others. The most famous case was the creator of Arab Malaysian Banking Group, Hussain Ahmad Najadi, dead and his wife was hurt in one of the shooting cases. Ridiculously, some people chose to shoot people for getting meats, such as chicken and pork!

It is happening in Malaysia. No one is absolutely safe.

I used to think that our country is safe when I was young, but my though is keep changing when I am growing up. I thought it was already worst when there were cases of robbed, raped and disappearance happened all the times. Now, it is already over my imagination because there is shot dead in this country! Should people live in this country buy vests? When there is a necessary for people to do this kind of protection when they are going out, you could imagine how worst the country is. This is absolutely crazy! For those who always believe in our country is safe, like me, please wake up and beware for your safety!

I seriously hope that our government takes these cases seriously and lower the chance of people involve in crime! #PrayForMalaysia. Malaysian will know why I typed PRAY. Typical  Malaysian.

These three days, I went to gather with my friends. For the first day, it was recorded in my previous post. At the second day, we were blocked when we were trying to pass by the Smart Tag because the Tol was not functioned for my Smart Tag. I always blame the driver who is in this situation because it is wasting other people time! At this time, I finally have been in this kind of situation. For the first time, I used the TouchN’Go after the smart tag failed to function well but the scanner still failed to identify my card. After pushing the ‘help’ button, the railing was letting me to pass by it with alarm rang. I straight drove away without stopping my car because there were cars behind me. I went to the TouchN’Go office after this incident and I got served by the workers in very good manner. It has been a long time for me to meet other workers with good manner and smiling face in the government office. I don’t know your name but I will remember the attitude.

At the third day, Benjemin, Benjamin, Jasmine, Musthaq, Weijinn and me went to watch The Conjuring. You will shout and laugh when watching this movie. Overall, I would use one word to describe this movie, epic. Surprisingly, the director of this movie is a Malaysian, James Wen, who also director of The Saw and Fast & Furious 7. He definitely is one of the proud of Malaysia because I don’t think there are many people especially Asian can do well, or even survive in Hollywood. Personally, he might not come back to make his own film for many times in the future due to the lack of sponsorship here but he could share his experiences to movie maker in Malaysia in order to improve the quality of Malaysia’s movie. After the movie session, I went to meet play games at Musthaq house again and meet some new friends. We went Asia Café for dinner and Snowflake for supper after them buka puasa. Release. After this suffers but meaningful month, I wish everyone a Happy Hari Raya! Enjoy meals and appreciate what we have now. 

Shopping with myself

Starring and story line of a movie plays important role in affecting people enter cinema to watch it. It is hardly for me to watch movie in cinema because I always consider the value of money! I would rather download or watch the movie via website than watch a low quality movie in cinema.

Personal Time
Today, I went to Paradigm for movie and shopping. Nobody accompany me, I did all these things alone. Sometimes, it is good to have time for yourself only. Spend your time with yourself and without any consideration to your friend’s situation. I’m not trying to say that consideration to friend’s situation is annoyed or burden but sometimes we just need to have some personal time, like today. Relax.

Movie Time!
Blind detective, starring by Andy Lau and Sammy Chen, the first movie they partner together again in movie since 2003. I still remember the last movie they acted together! They have good acting skills and director of the movie has good reputation. These factors attracted me to watch this movie in cinema. Reputation. The movie was talking about a blind detective (acted by Andy Lau) and a police (acted by Sammy Chen) were working together to find Minnie, friend of the police, who have lost for many years. There were many incidents happened when they were finding Minnie. At the end, of course, they found her successfully! I would rate this movie 7/10. I would recommend you to watch it in cinema.

Shopping!

After finished watching the movie, I went to Uniqlo for buying three shorts. For the unknown reasons, I still have not found out the reasons, the price of shorts always higher than shirts! That is the reason I don’t have much well-designed and good quality shorts in house. Uniqlo is currently doing promotion for shorts and shirts. I bought these two shorts for RM139.80 instead of RM239.80, and one votive short for RM 39.90. I chose not to purchase the cotton shirt although it only sells RM24.90 for two! Spend money wisely!

University Brother (Friends)
There are many gang in the same batch, same course, same class. I am blessed with I meet with friends who treated friends nicely and honestly. We mean what we say, and show our real emotions and feelings to other people. We always trolling or say sarcastic jokes to each other in order of correcting each other mistakes. We always helping each other in academy as much as possible in own ability, and we shared the answer with others. Even part of the assignment! We truly want each other to be a better person and go through university life well. These acts are totally over my expectation. My thought on university friends are almost on the other side before I entered to here. I mean most of the friends.

Gathering with S3 friends~

Final exam is coming at 2 week later.
Revision and assignment still have not done yet.
And, I cannot cool down myself to study.
Then, let’s have a rest.

Lovely night 1

Lovely night 2 ;)

This Friday night, I had a great gathering with ex-classmates at S3ACL.
I drove and fetched two fellows to reach the place of our gathering, Station one, Bukit Tinggi.
I planned this gathering 3 weeks before, but still not much people attended this gathering.  **Sigh**
There are just 7 people gather at Station one, and two more person join us when watch movie at Jusco, Bukit Tinngi.
Friends who attended this gathering are Esslie, Ying Ying, Renee, Wiki, Darren, Huang Yao and me. (Meng kuan and Siput joined us at last.)
We chit chat a lot and felt so sad to Huang Yao because nobody recognize him when he was calling to others. LOL~
Although only a small gathering that supposed to be BIG, we had fun in this gathering too.
Actually I like small gathering rather than big gathering because we can simply catch up each other and exchange information/experience clearly.

After this, we decided to watch a movie because the night still young.
We watched a cartoon movie, BRAVE, which let us keep laughing and made baby cry inside cinema. **The volume had scared me jump from my place too! **
This movie is good and meaningful, but I would suggest not bringing children that easily get scared and cry to watch this movie in cinema unless you can take care of them. LOL

When movie ended, we were going back to our home.
It means that this gathering dismiss.
Perhaps we can meet each other again soon.
